Fact: Name origin of Dexy's Midnight Runners
The musical group Dexy's Midnight Runners, who had a hit in the '80s with the song "Come on, Eileen," got their name from a drug reference. "Dexy's" refers to the pill Dexedrine, more commonly referred to as Speed. Since Dexy's keep their users up all night, they were dubbed "Dexy's Midnight Runners."
